Introduction of what we do
The aim of this business is to create opportunities for art students to gain exposure to the public through online and exhibition business opportunities. Most students are more engaged with classes but not the practical world as they are not familiar enough with the business that goes into it, therefore we believe that student should be more exposed to the public to gain more knowledge and experience through the university life.
Our company offers a service that serves both students and customers who have a passion for quality artwork. The business will mainly engage with letting students to post the artwork online or through exhibitions and selling it to customers to generate commissions for the business. At the moment, we are just a start-up corporation with the intention of promoting student’s artwork to the public. The business will be operated as a sole proprietorship in which we will generate revenues in our own way.
From 2003 to 2007, the fine art industry grew faster than subprime housing. The art market has been mainly targeted in the upper class. As it was recorded the highest artwork ever paid was “Orange, Red, Yellow” by Mark Rothko sold for nearly $87 million dollar. Our company believes that artwork should be affordable audiences wider than the upper class. The artwork made by students could appeal to a bigger group of consumers since the price could be affordable to at least middle to upper classes, yet retain the quality of expensive fine art. In terms of the global market, middle classes have been missing opportunities as superior art dominates the media platform. Our company plans to create a platform for students to sell their art to mainly middle class consumers which both group blends well together in terms of interest, and ultimately will change the culture of buying art across the world, giving everybody the opportunity to become an ‘art connoisseur’
The main benefit from our business is already having a community of art students formed mainly with Asians students, which we could easily access to them. This will be our main strength culturally has we already have a strong part in the Asian art market, we could expand into different cultural markets without any safety concerns in terms of suppliers.
Through this business, we believe that students can raise and shine if they are given opportunities. For that to happen, opportunities have to be created in some form and that is exactly what our business is about. Creating artists, careers and lifestyle.
